Dear Parents, Current and Future Members and Friends,
Our ever growing marching band program will swell from 110 playing members to 140 playing members for the 2006-2007 school year. We look forward to having each and every one of you participate next year. The 2006-2007 edition of the Tunkhannock Area High School Tiger Marching Band has been invited to perform at the 2007 Toyota Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fl.
Our next order of business is the requirement of $7000 deposit by February 23. We are asking that everyone, who plans on going on the trip including chaperones, place a non-refundable deposit of $50 by February 21, 2006. I understand that this may not be possible, so please let me know either way so that we can make other arrangements. Credits may be used to cover this deposit. This money will be used to cover the band’s initial deposit as well as secure your seat.
Trip Dates: December 29, 2006-January 3, 2007
Activities Include: Gator Bowl Parade, Gator Bowl Performance, New Year’s Eve Party, Universal Studios, Disney World, and Daytona Beach
Length of Stay: 6 days/5 nights
Estimated Cost: $850 per person (not including any fundraising activities)
The Band Boosters are working diligently to reduce the overall cost of the trip, which is expected to top $120k. However with a monthly attendance of only 8-10 people, it is difficult to reduce the amount greatly without your support. The fundraisers that we are working on reduce everyone’s trip cost, so it will benefit you. Our informational trip meeting will be held on March 6th at 7 p.m. in the high school band room. There will also be a band booster meeting the same night.
