How credits work?

The credit system is the basis for the way the “Tiger Band” structures its profits from fundraisers.  For each sale, the band boosters determine what the price is of the product as well as the profit.

For example: the cheesecake and cookie dough sale was rated at a 40% profit and the fruit was 3 credits per item except for pineapples (1/2 credit each).

 Wilma Nesselbaum (9th grade-trumpet):

Item Total Sold Multiplier Net Profit
Cheesecakes & Cookie Dough $238.00   40% 95.2
Fruit 15 items 3 45
      Earned: 140.2

Credits are earned on each sale and accumulated on each student’s name for the four years that they are in band.  Credits can be used at anytime for that year’s trip or left to accumulate for another year’s trip.

 Where are the credits kept?

The credits are kept on a spreadsheet by Mr. Zellner.  Copies are given to the fundraising chair, president, and treasurer of the band boosters.

The money is kept in a savings account that is designated for this purpose.  At the time credits are wished to be used for a trip, the treasurer is notified and the money (if need be) is moved from the savings account to the checking account.
